Facebook's two new devices for home
There are lot of devices in market for home form Amazon echo to all devices that support voice assist .
Now , recenty in November facebook has launched two new devices which is a little different than the existing devices which are meant for home .
Facebook has named them "PORTAL" which comes in two variant "Portal +"and a "smaller portal" , it comes with the voice assistant "Alexa" (which is a product of amazon) .
To wake up the device "Hey Portal" is used like we use "OK Google" and "HeySiri " in our mobile devices.
PORTAL+
Price : $349
1080p display , which can be adjusted to potrait or landscape view.
SMALLER PORTAL
Price: $199
720p display, in this device it cant be adjusted to potrait or landscape view.
Various offers have been offered like if you buy it in a bundle , that is both the devices you will get a discount of $100.
The camera placed in the camera provides 140 degree field of view and if there is one person in room the camera focuses on that person alone.
It offers music ,video call, spotify and lot of other apps can run on Portal . Lot more apps are coming to Portal , Facebook says.
To block the camera we have to place a cap on the camera to avoid monitoring users when not in use, as the products were launched right after few weeks when the personal details of millions of users were leaked , this issue may be major setback for this product.
