What happened to the indian smartphone makers ?
Micromax, Karbonn , Xolo , Lava are some indian smartphone companies ,where are they now?
Well, Indian smartphones brands were performing well till 2014. They had a huge market share , they were even ahead of most smartphones makers including Oneplus and Xiaomi (which are now leading smartphone brands in indian market).
So, what actually happened to them . Let's know the truth behind this , indian smartphone brands were not actually manufacturing smartphones , they were not even trying literally and to be more precise their smartphones are not even made in india... Relax more yet to come....
Yes , they were not originally made in India. They were bought from chinese ODM's and just the brand name was printed on them later ...

That method was a huge success for them initially and they made a lot of money through that method . Even though they had enough money, they did not thought about about bringing up a manufacturing plant and R&D phase to start production of smartphones in India itself .. rather than buying from ODM's.
They were still buying smartphones from ODM's and selling them in India . As this continued and did not concentrate on consumers , they tend to fail in the smartphone market . As other companies like Oneplus and Xiaomi had their own manufacturing plant and R&D phase ,they started ruling the
smartphone market and providing the smartphones with respect to their customer needs .
Even one of their ODM has evolved into a individual company .
They had the opportunity and enough money to maintain pace in the market but they did not used the opportunity . Now in this market situation it's really hard to give a comeback .
